Animal welfare activist as well as Journalist Madhu Kattel (Ami ) has been honored by the National Civil Development Society for her relentless contribution to the rights, protection, and welfare of animals for over a decade.
Kattel has played a vital role in bringing animal welfare into the spotlight of both social and policy discourse. Through her journalism, she has consistently raised her voice against neglect, violence, and mistreatment of animals in society. Her reports, analyses, and awareness-based content have helped spread compassion and sensitivity among the public toward animals.
Recognizing her dedication and service, Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Ramnath Adhikari presented her with an official certificate of appreciation at an event organized by the National Civil Development Society.
Upon receiving the honor, Kattel said,
“This recognition is not just a reflection of my personal journey, but a tribute to the ongoing movement for the welfare and dignity of all animals. It has deepened my sense of responsibility, and I am even more committed to continuing this path forward.”
The honor is seen as a significant milestone in her advocacy journey and is expected to inspire further efforts in promoting animal rights and welfare in Nepal.
